URC Announces New Total Control® Integration Modules for DIRECTV, Roku, Popcorn Hour/Popbox and Dune HD

Modules developed by Extra Vegetables with the assistance and support of URC were previewed during CEDIA EXPO in Denver and are now available

Harrison, N.Y. – October 23, 2013 – URC, the leader in whole-house control, today announced Total Control® two-way integration modules for DIRECTV®, Roku®, Popcorn Hour®/Popbox® and Dune HD®. The new modules received a tremendous response when previewed to integrators at CEDIA Expo, and come on the heels of the release of the very popular control integration module for Sonos® music players also developed by Extra Vegetables and URC.

All modules are ultrafast and display customized graphics on URC touchpanels, remote controls and iOS Apps straight out of the box. The new modules are designed to extend the functionality of Total Control by providing easy integration with third-party products. The modules are easy to install and work with URC Accelerator. In addition to providing transport controls, the DIRECTV Module offers specific DIRECTV controls including Skip 2.5 min, Playlist and Replay. Users can easily add and recall Favorite channels from URC interfaces. The new modules for Roku, Popcorn Hour/Popbox and Dune HD provide graphics specific for that media player. The Sonos module takes full advantage of the unique features and capabilities of URC Total Control including the ability to provide keyboard searches on music services and the music library.  The Sonos module delivers customized graphics that enable features such as Add to Favorites and Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down to be used directly from the URC interfaces. Adding the Sonos module to Accelerator is quick and easy, requiring minimal dealer set-up.

“This collection of two-way modules is a boon to consumers and integrators alike,” said Cat Toomey, director of marketing at URC. “Now it’s more simple than ever to add top notch media content to Total Control systems. Judging from the popularity of the Sonos module, we expect these to be enthusiastically received.”

These URC Total Control modules were developed independently by Extra Vegetables with assistance and support of URC, and are available for purchase from Extra Vegetables. They are supported by Extra Vegetables under the terms of their software license which can be viewed under the dealer section of the Extra Vegetables web site at To ensure that the modules are properly installed and supported, the modules are only sold to Authorized URC Total Control dealers.
